Cube Crusaders
Cube Crusaders is set on Adoros, a world threatened by a Void Anomaly that is warping reality and unleashing forces no one fully understands. The player takes the role of a Cube Crusader, dispatched to deal with the threat. The campaign takes place across the planet’s underground, which is structured in a metroidvania style, and can be played alone or with a second player in local couch co-op. Players fight bosses and groups of enemies produced by the anomaly. Optional Curse Modifiers can be enabled to increase the difficulty and alter how the campaign plays, which the developer positions as a source of replayability.
A separate PvE horde mode presents a scenario in which surface-dwelling Cube Crusaders have been turned into cube-eating zombies. Players fight to survive against waves of enemies that grow larger and stronger over time. This mode supports up to 16 players online, or two players locally. Host settings allow lobby sizes of up to 200 players, though the developer notes this has not been tested beyond 16. Credits earned in both Horde Mode and the campaign can be used to unlock Nightmare Mode, a harder variant of the horde mode with more aggressive enemy swarms.
The game includes a character customisation system covering all elements of the Crusader, including particle effects, with cosmetics usable across all game modes. All unlocks are earned through gameplay and there are no microtransactions. The developer has stated that the game will receive updates for six months following launch, incorporating community suggestions and bug fixes, with feedback gathered through a Discord server.
