Emberville

Emberville is an action adventure game set in the Vitromotus, a prison built to confine the unwanted elements of a once great society. The player character wakes with clouded memories and must find a way out. Along the way, they rescue the inhabitants of a ruined town called Emberville, who are held captive in the prison. The setting includes tunnels, ruins, survivor settlements and unusual biomes shaped by kymia, an energy born from emotions that brings those trapped inside back to life.

Combat is action-focused and involves positioning, timing and knowledge of enemies, which range from ordinary creatures to bosses. Weapons have their own combos, and different attack types can be chained together. Players can learn skills from a range of combat classes, switch classes at any time, and pass passive and active skills from one learnt class to another. Enemies become stronger as the player ventures deeper. Skills and weapons can be improved through levelling, items and help from rescued villagers, and the character can be customised with options such as hair styles, beards, facial features and colours.

Rescued villagers offer rewards, teachings and quests, and they help restore the town through a variety of gathering and crafting professions. Players can read villagers’ diaries and learn about their stories. The game also includes a personal estate in Emberville, where players can build structures, furniture, plants and decorations. Gathered materials are used to make combat equipment, potions, food, tools and trinkets. Progress comes through combat, exploration, rebuilding and choices made during the adventure.
