Escape from Track 7
Escape from Track 7 is the latest entry in the ○番線 anomaly series, which the developer states has sold over 100,000 copies. It is set at a small Japanese railway station after the last train has left. The departure board is blank, the ticket gates are closed, and the only way out is at the far end of Track 7.
The player walks along the platform and examines their surroundings, including signs, timetables, vending machines and a stranger standing behind the yellow line. If an anomaly is spotted, the player must turn back; if nothing has changed, they continue forward. Reaching the end of the platform completes the escape, while a single incorrect judgement sends the player back to the start. Controls are limited to walking, looking and deciding, and there is no combat.
The game includes 44 anomalies, ranging from subtle details to more overt changes. The platform is modelled on a real Japanese station with attention to signage, sounds and signals. A single escape takes roughly 30 to 60 minutes, with finding every anomaly extending playtime further. The developer permits streaming and monetised videos by individuals and companies without prior permission, and requests that the game’s name appear in video titles alongside a link to the Steam page.
