Every Wednesday
Every Wednesday is a dialogue-driven slice-of-life game set in the Yamada Laundry, a laundromat in a modern city. The player follows Hideki, who has recently moved to the city, as he returns to the laundromat each week and gradually gets to know the people who frequent it. The story unfolds across fourteen weekly visits, with each visit revealing more about the characters, including their dreams, doubts, and secrets.
Gameplay is built around dialogue choices, small interactions, and minigames. Choices made during conversations affect the tone of the exchanges and can reveal different sides of the characters. Minigames include tasks such as mixing laundry fragrances and helping characters with small chores, contributing to the everyday atmosphere of the laundromat.
The game uses a 2.5D pixel art style, featuring detailed rooms, lighting effects, reflections, and animations, along with a view of the city outside. Over the course of the story, the laundromat changes from a worn, quiet space into one associated with memories, support, and connection among its regulars.
