Herd League
Herd League is a strategy game about growing a herd of animals on a ranch. Players begin with a small pasture and a handful of rabbits. Animals move, graze and reproduce on their own, and as the herd grows its demand for grass increases. When food runs short, reproduction may slow or stop, so players must balance herd size against the land available to them. The core loop involves deciding whether to keep breeding animals, sell them, or exchange them for more valuable species, progressing from rabbits to sheep, then pigs, cows and finally horses. A settings option lets players swap pigs for goats, which is purely cosmetic.
Grass is described as one of the most important resources. The land visibly changes under grazing pressure, and players can expand into neighbouring plots to support a larger herd. Weather and changing conditions can also affect the ranch. Animals can be sold on a shared market where prices shift over time and respond to activity during a match. Other players cannot interfere with a ranch directly, but their trades influence the market everyone uses. Money earned can be spent on new land or on protection, including fence upgrades and guard dogs, which reduce the risk of losing animals to wolves.
The main mode is Cow Race, in which the winner is the first participant to reach a required number of cows. Matches support up to 12 participants online, and bots can fill open slots, meaning a full lobby is not needed to start. The game can also be played solo against bots. Progress is shown directly on the pasture, with the herd, grass levels, plots, dogs and wolves all visible on the ranch.
