Iron Blight

Iron Blight is a survival horror game set in a forgotten Eastern Bloc town after the collapse of the state. The player controls a man alone in the cold and dark, hunted by creatures beyond the town walls. His one aim is to survive the night and find his wife, Valeria. The story is told through the environment itself.

Gameplay centres on scarcity and caution. Ammunition is limited, and gunfire can attract more enemies, so players must decide whether to fight, flee or avoid confrontation altogether. Players explore streets and interior spaces, solve puzzles, scavenge tools to overcome obstacles, and manage food and medical supplies. Even opening a locked door requires some thought.

The game uses a grid-based inventory that exists within the game world, so carrying space is restricted and players must choose what to keep and what to leave behind. There is no HUD: no health bars, ammo counters or menus, and information is conveyed through the character and the surroundings. Weapons are handled manually, with players checking magazines round by round and reloading in step-by-step actions. The setting features rain-slick cobblestones and flickering fluorescent lights, and the developer describes the design as a return to older survival horror traditions.
