KKUL-TTEOK!

KKUL-TTEOK! is a cooperative game for one to four players, played solo or with up to three friends. It is based on the Korean traditional food honey rice cake, known as kkul-tteok. Players take the role of the rice cakes after they have been swallowed, and must work together to travel through the mouth and esophagus and escape.

Colour is central to the gameplay. Each KKUL-TTEOK has its own colour, and there are also black and white options. Stepping on platforms that match a player’s colour opens the way forward, and matching the colour of the floor allows a player to hide from danger. Players may need to switch to black or white to fill in for a missing teammate.

When danger strikes, players use a microphone to shout their team cheer name together. Every teammate must take part, or the sabotage cannot be stopped. Players can create their own team cheer. The game contains 12 challenges, each with its own rules, challenge or minigame, including falling floors, platforms that only one player can stand on, and chasers that continually follow the players. The game’s release status has changed from development to released.
