Last Wail of the Sea King

Last Wail of the Sea King is a first-person RPG with JRPG-inspired turn-based combat. The game takes place inside the body of a dying sea beast, an environment that has been altered over years by ocean pollution. Players take the role of Clyde the Intern, sent on an expedition by an organisation referred to as The Company, and travel deeper into the creature to learn what has happened to it.

The interior is presented as a surreal 3D world populated by 2D collage-style characters. Some of these characters can be recruited to the player’s party, while others act as obstacles. Player choices affect who joins the crew. Combat is turn-based and involves encounters with tribal warriors, mutated fish and other creatures living within the beast. Exploration yields gear and weapons that can be used to equip party members.

Locations within the Sea King include cities built from rubbish and lakes of stomach acid. The game features characters to speak with and secrets to discover, and the developer notes that the setting carries risks to both the sanity and the life of the player character.
