Lazy River

Lazy River is a co-op first person shooter set at Water Station One, described as the galaxy’s most unregulated waterpark. An infinite lazy river runs the length of the park. In the game’s premise, a guest contaminated the pool, and the water turned the other guests into zombies. Players and their friends must build a raft and ride the river to the far end of the park to escape.

The game is built around four activities. Players collect innertubes to start a raft, then add walls, sails and engines. The raft is fully physically simulated, so its balance and weight affect how it handles. For combat, players use squirt guns, water balloons and pool noodles. Zombies explode when they get too wet, and the squirt gun can be upgraded into a sniper rifle or a rapid fire machine gun. Players also scavenge raw materials and operate a fryer to make food such as tater tots, corn dogs, burgers and onion rings, which restore health.

Robot park security squads set up blockades and defences along the river. Getting too close lets them shoot out the raft’s innertubes and damage it. Players must therefore choose their route with care. Setting off the park alarm system triggers a self-clean cycle that destroys all organic life in the area.
