Lucky Break

Lucky Break is a roguelike deckbuilder that combines themes of addiction, horror and gambling. The game takes place in a dive bar, where the player takes the role of an addict who must clear their gambling debts by playing a cursed slot machine. Failing to repay the debt carries consequences, including the possible loss of the character’s fingers.

The core loop revolves around spinning the slot machine and aiming for jackpots. After every spin the player chooses symbols, which forms the deckbuilding element of the game. Drinks can be purchased at the bar to alter the odds in the player’s favour.

Between spins the player interacts with the mobsters who oversee the debt. Surviving the run leads to one of multiple endings.
