Mini Court

Mini Court is a browser-based pixel-art game developed by a third party in which the player takes the role of a criminal court judge. Each case presents the prosecution’s argument and the defence’s rebuttal, along with evidence for the player to examine, before a sentence must be handed down. The game includes 43 criminal cases and a tutorial, with charges ranging across murder, robbery resulting in death, sexual assault, arson, espionage and financial crime.

Sentencing is the central mechanic. Players can choose from a suspended sentence, a fine, detention, probation, imprisonment with a custom number of years, life imprisonment, the death penalty or acquittal. Verdicts carry consequences for the judge: convicting an innocent defendant results in a charge of judicial misconduct, while releasing a guilty party without cause reduces public trust until the judge is removed from the bench. Each case is accompanied by legal reference cards that cite real statutes and precedent, and a separate pretrial detention review mode is based on Article 70 of the Korean Criminal Procedure Act.

The game offers three difficulty levels and a citizen jury (lay judge) mode. On completion, players receive a judge personality analysis, can download their verdict documents and can share result cards. The developer notes that the game deals with serious offences, including murder and sexual assault, through text-based case descriptions, and advises checking the content rating.
