Nocturne is a story-driven RPG set after humanity's extinction, combining rhythm-based combat with traditional RPG exploration and progression.

Nocturne is a narrative RPG set in the Digital Afterlife, a world left behind after the disappearance of humanity. The game features a story of over 100,000 words and a campaign lasting more than ten hours, exploring themes related to life and existence through its cast of characters and a pixel art world.

Combat is built around a skill based rhythm system spanning 101 playable tracks, with six difficulty settings aimed at both newcomers and experienced players of the genre. Players time their attacks to musical cues to land critical hits, while missing notes leaves them open to enemy retaliation. The game also includes standard RPG systems such as levelling, stats, equipment, shops, cutscenes, boss battles, exploration and hidden secrets.

Defeated enemies can be unlocked in Arcade Mode, allowing players to replay any of the game’s tracks and pursue high scores. All boss battle music was recorded live by the Slovak National Symphony Orchestra, forming part of the game’s original soundtrack.
