Oops! You’re the Hero!

Oops! You’re the Hero! is a story-driven fantasy adventure. After stealing a forgotten artifact, a Thief is marked as an unwilling hero. The player follows him across the land as he tries to return the item he took. He is accompanied by a talkative companion named Tut Puff, and the narrative combines humour with a sarcastic tone.

The game is played level by level in Othaya, a world that has moved on from magic and monsters. Those monsters now threaten the common folk. Levels contain different pathways and hidden secrets, and players can choose to confront enemies or look for routes that avoid them. Combat is optional in many situations, depending on how the player wishes to proceed.

The Thief is equipped with a sword and relies on skill and wit in battle. Each boss is a large monster that rules its own biome and uses its own abilities to challenge the player. Listed features include exploration of a fantasy world where the player character is the target, a narrative-focused story, branching paths that lead to fights or escapes, a small creature that follows the player, and flying sheep.
