Punch Planet – Early Access

Punch Planet is a competitive 2D fighting game set in a science fiction universe featuring alien races, advanced cities, and exotic planets. It is being developed by a team of three, with a focus on competitive fighting mechanics alongside story and character design. The single-player campaign follows Roy, an undercover detective framed for murder, as he travels to the planet K-0 to find the real culprit and clear his name.

The game offers local 1v1 versus matches, matches against CPU opponents with adjustable difficulty and behaviour, and online versus play using GGPO rollback netcode. Online features include player lobbies, spectating, and casual matchmaking. A training mode is included with hitbox viewers, frame data overlay, dummy recording, reversal options, and state saving, along with an online training mode.

Core mechanics include Time Canceling, which allows players to use a T-Meter to briefly rewind actions through moves such as Double Time Canceling, Jump Time Canceling, and Absorb Time Canceling. An E-Meter system allows players to spend energy on enhanced attacks or combine stocks for Advanced Attacks. The Early Access version includes 9 playable characters, 5 stages, Arcade mode with animated cutscenes, and Trials, with one additional character planned for a future update.
