Raiders 1941

Raiders 1941 is a vertical scrolling shoot ’em up that draws on arcade classics while supporting refresh rates of up to 120hz. Players choose one of two top-secret experimental planes and fight the Axis across Europe, finishing their mission in Berlin. Each level is a stretch of difficult traversal featuring tanks, planes, ships, trains, turrets and artillery, followed by a boss. The game contains flashing images.

The two planes handle differently. The Sparrow is the faster plane and fires a narrow regular shot. The Hawk is slower and fires a spread shot. Both can use a focus or power shot for extra firepower, which slows the plane and narrows the shot further.

Arcade mode is the main story mode and consists of five levels and bosses. Training mode lets players select a specific level or boss to practise. Easy, Normal and Hard difficulty settings are included. Other features include Steam Leaderboards for comparing scores with players worldwide, a choice of 60hz or 120hz framerates, a ‘Tate’ rotated view option, and a rock and metal focused soundtrack.
