Remnants of the forsaken Past : Submerged Fantasy

Remnants of the forsaken Past : Submerged Fantasy is a story driven action game set beneath the ocean, in a world that combines magic and technology. Players take the role of Raine, who sets out to learn what caused the fall of an ancient civilisation and to uncover the history of his own family. Along the way he encounters pirate factions who pose a threat to the world, as well as hostile sea creatures.

Much of the game is spent piloting a submarine through underwater environments and engaging in vehicle combat against pirates and sea monsters. Players begin with a starting submarine and progress through a series of vessels, ending with a final submarine intended to handle the challenges of the deep. Raine also works alongside a group called the Metal Guild in an effort to stop the pirates’ plans and to prevent the events that destroyed the ancient civilisation from recurring.

In addition to submarine sections, the game includes 2D side-scrolling levels in which Raine fights enemies on foot in locations such as underwater caves and research facilities. The developer lists story driven progress, deep sea worlds, submarine combat and character combat as key features. Controller support is included, and the game is described as offering more than eight hours of play.
