Retail Hell

Retail Hell is a psychological horror job simulator set in a convenience store located in a liminal space between life and death. Players take on the role of a clerk who must manage the store’s daily operations, including brewing coffee, preparing hot dogs, maintaining machinery, and keeping the shelves stocked, while working off a debt owed to an unseen management.

The core gameplay involves serving a variety of grotesque and supernatural customers, each with unusual requests. Serving them efficiently can result in tips, while mistakes or delays can trigger reality-warping curses and other consequences. Alongside customer service, players must manage store resources, trade for upgrades, and interpret cryptic orders from deceased clientele in order to keep the shop running and avoid losing their soul if the business fails.

Beyond the day-to-day management, the game includes a narrative element focused on uncovering the protagonist’s past. Players can piece together clues about their character’s life and death to understand why they are trapped in this afterlife job. The game features multiple endings, allowing players to either break the cycle of their purgatory or remain bound to it indefinitely.
