Space Boat

Space Boat is an adventure game set in a universe of varied alien species. Players take the role of Inspector Domino, a space cat detective assigned to find a shapeshifting thief. The story begins on the Jelly Shore, a holiday destination on Gelatonix IV that has grown from a fishing village into a busy boardwalk. The detective must board the Princess Andromeda, described as the largest cruise ship in the galaxy, to stop an intergalactic jewel thief.

Gameplay combines exploration, puzzle solving and conversation. Players wear a mech suit, talk to the lifeforms they meet, investigate the cruise ship, and can move through secret areas in cat mode. The narrative branches in a choose-your-own-adventure style, so decisions made during play can affect the outcome of the story, and the game is designed to be played through more than once. Characters and species mentioned include the Carpetians, the Jelly Dog, the Gelatonians and a barista named Glenn.

Other features include a character customiser for building a personalised alien mech suit, known as a M.U.E.L., and a photo mode with filters. The game also contains mini-games, among them an underground racing event called F.B.C. racing. Space Boat is still in development, and the developers invite players to make suggestions and join discussion on the game’s Discord server, with community input used to help create aliens, improve user integration and make the game more accessible.
