Star Trek: Voyager – Across the Unknown

Star Trek: Voyager – Across the Unknown is a story-driven survival strategy game set aboard the U.S.S. Voyager after it is stranded in the Delta Quadrant. Players take the role of captain and steer the ship’s journey through alternative versions of events from the series, choosing how situations are handled and whether to pursue paths the crew rejected in the original story, such as adopting Borg technology. The game includes roguelike elements, so each run presents different situations, and named characters can die if the player does not respond appropriately.

Ship management forms a central part of play. The ship begins heavily damaged, and players must restore destroyed rooms, secure life support and energy supplies, and decide which systems, crew quarters, industrial facilities and research facilities to build. Research into different fields unlocks new technologies and layouts that strengthen the ship and affect crew morale. Exploration involves scanning celestial bodies for resources and investigating points of interest, with the player plotting the ship’s course and deciding how to approach each encounter.

The game also features away missions and ship combat. For away missions, players assemble teams based on individual crew skills and choose whether to prioritise safety, speed or a scientific approach. In ship combat, orders are issued from the bridge for offensive and defensive manoeuvres, targeting enemy systems and using special weapons, while crew members assigned to battle stations provide abilities that can be triggered during the fight. One new DLC item has been added to the game on Steam.
