Station 5:21
Station 5:21 is a 2.5D puzzle platformer developed with a melancholic tone. Its visual style draws on the metaphysical paintings of Giorgio de Chirico, combined with the look of 1970s analogue television and dreamcore imagery. The game is framed as taking place inside an old CRT screen, in a world where time no longer functions normally and deserted architectural spaces are filled with strange broadcasts.
Players move through a series of levels made up of empty plazas and surreal spaces defined by rigid geometry and long shadows. Progress depends on manipulating environmental mechanisms and working out the internal logic of each area. Puzzles are logic based and involve interacting with vintage 1970s machinery and tuning into distorted television signals.
The pace is slow and the emphasis is on exploration and observation rather than fast action. The game is aimed at players who are interested in mystery and in the atmosphere of period analogue technology.
