Stronghold Crusader: Definitive Edition

Stronghold Crusader: Definitive Edition is a remastered version of the original real-time strategy game, set against the backdrop of the historical crusades for the holy land. Players build and manage desert strongholds, balancing economy, resource management and castle defences while engaging in skirmishes and campaigns against AI or human opponents. The game features updated visuals built from the original source artwork, a remastered soundtrack by composer Robert L. Euvino, and new voice recordings from the original cast.

The definitive edition adds content beyond the original release, including 8 new playable Bedouin units, 4 additional AI lords with unique castles and tactics, and two new historical campaigns covering events such as the sieges of Jerusalem and Antioch. It also introduces four ‘Sands of Time’ skirmish trails and a new co-operative trail for two players. Skirmish mode has been expanded with larger map sizes, custom options and other quality of life improvements requested by players.

Multiplayer support allows up to 8 players online, alongside Steam Workshop support for custom scenarios and new multiplayer maps. The game covers historical conflicts including the First, Second and Third Crusades, featuring figures such as Richard the Lionheart and Sultan Saladin, and includes battles such as Nicaea and Heraclea recreated with new visual detail.
