Sue your parents
Single-player Family Sharing
A short courtroom game in which you argue a lawsuit over whether parents owe their child for bringing them into the world, playing as either the child or the parents.

Sue Your Parents is a courtroom game built around a single absurd premise treated seriously: a child takes their parents to court for creating them without their consent. The alleged offence is nothing more than the fact that the child exists. There is no murder, no abuse allegation and no hidden family secret at the centre of the case.

Players can take either side of the dispute. As the child, you argue that your parents should be held responsible for the bills, work and pain that came with being born. As the parents, you argue that creating a life does not create an unlimited debt to the person created. The case is built through a series of courtroom choices covering topics such as responsibility, consent, the cost of living and what, if anything, parents owe their children. The opposing side responds to your reasoning and can turn your own logic against you, and the verdict changes depending on the arguments you make.

The game avoids dense legal jargon, with arguments intended to be understood immediately. It is short and focused, designed to be completed in one sitting, and can be replayed from the opposite side to defend the position you previously attacked.
