Tainted Grail: The Fall of Avalon

Tainted Grail: The Fall of Avalon is a mature, first-person open-world RPG set in a dark fantasy realm drawn from Arthurian legend. The story takes place 600 years after the fall of King Arthur, and the player’s choices in a branching main storyline shape the legacy of his reign. The game includes more than 250 NPCs and over 200 side quests, with voiced characters and morally ambiguous decisions that affect the future of Avalon. The developer estimates 50 to 70 hours of content.

Combat lets players switch between melee weapons, shields, bows, magic, throwables and mixtures, and use dodging, parrying and blocking to defend against a range of enemies. Character development draws on attributes, skills, perks, equipment and crafting, which allows different builds such as an alchemist who fights bare-handed, a blacksmith who uses magic to summon undead, or a stealth archer. Exploration is open, with hidden items, story secrets, unique enemies, dungeons and quests spread across the world.

The game is divided into three zones: the Misty Horns of the South, the Cuanacht Village, and the frozen peaks of the Forlorn Swords. Supporting activities include sketchbook journaling, fishing, farming, blacksmithing, alchemy, cooking, mining and house management. At night, a chaotic primordial force called the Wyrdness alters the land, introducing survival challenges and making enemies more dangerous. One new DLC item has recently been added on Steam.
