VHS Nights: The Tidy Up Shift

VHS Nights: The Tidy Up Shift is set in 1992 in a disorganised local video rental store. Players sort 1,120 unique fictional VHS tapes onto the shelves by genre and release year. Each tape has its own title, cast, release year and blurb, and no titles are repeated. The tapes span 20 genres covering several decades of cinema.

The game offers two play styles. In Casual Clerk, players scan the shelves and the correct slot lights up, allowing them to tidy at their own pace. In Pro Clerk, players use a working 1990s-style EPOS terminal to check stock, customer details and online leaderboards, then locate the correct slot themselves. Rewinding tapes is optional.

Players earn points while working and spend them at a vending machine to unlock abilities, such as handheld sorting, which speeds up clearing the store. The game also includes multiple endings, which can depend on the choices players make during their shifts.
