Wordless Forest

Wordless Forest is a survival adventure told entirely through live-action footage. The player takes on the role of a person who has lost their memory, including their own name, and must rely on instincts developed over years of working in remote wilderness. There is no dialogue and no character to offer guidance; the player learns how to proceed by observing the environment and acting on what they see.

Progress is driven by decision-making rather than puzzles or reflex-based challenges. Each choice can carry irreversible consequences, and missing a detail can alter the outcome. There are four possible endings, some more favourable to the character than others. The footage was shot in forests around four different cities during cold conditions, using only natural light.

The game was created by a single developer over roughly two and a half years, who handled the writing, directing, acting, editing and programming, and who filmed the material alone in areas with no mobile signal and wildlife including bears, boars and snakes. Wordless Forest has now been released on Steam, where it has received more than 50 user reviews and currently holds a Mixed rating.
