Desk Top Racer
Desk Top Racer is an idle racing management game that sits on the player’s desktop. Rather than driving, the player builds up a garage, prepares cars and selects upgrades, then watches races run automatically. A compact race strip can remain on the desktop while a separate management view provides access to the garage, championship standings, a Radar screen and progression details.
The core loop centres on choosing cars, equipping parts and managing each car’s Condition to find combinations that produce better results. Races take place online against other players matched by Power level, and the game contains 32 championships that become more competitive as the player advances. Progression involves earning Credits, finding new parts, developing Mastery and completing Collections. Parts come in multiple rarities and variations, each with its own attributes, and crates and rewards add further items to the garage.
Some rewards can include items compatible with Steam Inventory. Where eligible, these can be moved between the game and the player’s inventory, organised through an in-game Steam Inventory panel, and viewed or listed on the Steam Community Market, with availability and prices set by the market. The developer has stated that further updates are planned, including Friend Challenges, a Team System, a League System and new content such as track-specific rewards.
