Desk Top Racer

Desk Top Racer is an online idle racing management game that displays a compact race strip on the player’s desktop. Races run on their own while the player works, studies or plays something else. In automatic mode, the player chooses a car, equips parts, maintains its condition and aims for podium finishes. Modes include a Tour of 32 countries with championships of ten races, online rooms of 20 drivers matched by power level, and an MMR-based League that opens after the Tour is completed. Six weather types rotate and change which cars have the advantage each day, and a Radar panel shows the race, standings and records.

An experimental Driving Mode lets the player control acceleration, braking and cornering directly. All cars are identical in this mode. It offers online multiplayer rooms of up to 20 drivers with qualifying and a starting grid, and a Practice option for racing against bots on any track with a braking guide line. The automatic race continues in the background during manual driving.

Garage progression centres on six part types across six rarities, from Common to Mythic. Crates are earned by racing, and parts can be upgraded without a level cap, sold for Credit or dismantled for Scrap. Other systems include a Mastery Tree covering performance, economy and automation, a Mechanical Collection that grants stats for completed part sets, and a Workshop where car mileage earns paint points for unlocking colours. Credit and Mastery continue to accrue while the game is closed. Further features include five Weekly Missions that reward DTR Coin, ten Mascots with their own bonuses, TrackCards for each country, and the Plincar spin, which costs one DTR Coin. Some rewards may be Steam Inventory items marked with an M badge, which can be transferred to a player’s inventory and, where eligible, viewed or listed on the Steam Community Market. Planned additions are championship seasons for automatic mode, a ranking and attributes for Driving Mode, and a team system.
