Green vs Tan

Green vs Tan is a tower defence game themed around plastic toy army men. The player controls the Green side against the Tan side, placing soldiers onto household surfaces such as carpets, backyards and rugs to hold the line and stop enemy troops from reaching a toy box. Levels are set in rooms and areas including bedrooms, backyards, Western Land, the winter rug and the rooftop, with over 100 levels in total.

There are ten soldier types available from the start, with further types to be discovered during play. These include a rifleman, a slow-moving machine gunner, a minesweeper who places and defuses mines, a bazooka soldier who damages groups and boulders, a long-range mortar with variable accuracy, a flamethrower, and a radio man who calls in a paratrooper and boosts nearby units. Each level contains environmental hazards that affect both sides, such as wrecking balls, a train, a soccer ball, boulders, mines and the rooftop edge. Boss encounters include King Yeti and a snow army, King Rex and stegosauruses, the Nemesis and paratroopers, marching redcoats, and Mom’s slippers. The game also features secrets and a Nightly Invasion mode.

Multiplayer is supported through a Battlefield mode ranging from 1v1 to 10v10, private rooms with invite codes, and a co-op campaign where completing a level advances every participant’s progress. Cross-platform play is included, and solo players can compete against the CPU. The game is available in seven languages: English, Japanese, Korean, Simplified Chinese, German, Russian and Spanish. A permanent internet connection is required as content is loaded from the developer’s servers, and there is no offline mode. The Steam version contains no adverts. Only mouse and keyboard are supported at present, with no controller support.
