Ministry of Order

Ministry of Order is an inspection puzzle set in a grim 1920s dystopia. A fire’s wiped out the birth records in Victory Harbor, and it’s your job to work out which baby belongs to which parents using nothing but inherited traits like blood type, eye colour and hair colour. Sounds simple until you realise not every trait tells you the truth, and that’s the least of your worries.

Get it right and the lamp turns green. Get it wrong and a fine turns up on your desk. Outside of work you’re navigating branching conversations with colleagues, inspectors and neighbours, all of whom want something from you, and saying the wrong thing to the wrong person can come back to bite you days later.

This one builds a real sense of unease. The newspaper tells you one version of events, the radio sometimes just gives you static, and your neighbours tell you something else entirely. Accuracy pays your rent, but the state’s got its hand out for plenty besides, and how you handle all of it decides which ending you land on. It’s quick to play day to day but the weight of your choices builds fast.
