Sigilfarer: A Dice-Rolling Roguelite

Sigilfarer: A Dice-Rolling Roguelite is set in a world damaged by a magical catastrophe. The player leads a group of wanderers across dangerous, changing territory, with outcomes decided by dice rolls. The game takes the structure of a deck-builder and replaces cards with dice: the party is the dice set, and every weapon, shield and piece of armour equipped adds new faces to those dice. A team can hold up to four characters, and the combination of equipment across them determines which attacks, buffs and tactical options are available on any given roll.

Dice are used throughout a run rather than only in fights. They are rolled in turn-based combat, used to pass skill checks and used to restore resources when the party rests. Exploration takes place on procedurally generated open hexagonal maps, with different regions containing their own biomes, hazards and opportunities. As is typical for the roguelite format, a failed run is not a permanent end; unlockables carry forward, and the developer states that more are planned. The game also includes a story and features a number of goblins and other creatures.

The developer is explicit about what the game is not: it is not designed as a relaxing experience, and it is neither a 4X strategy game nor a city builder. Sigilfarer has moved from development to full release on Steam, where it has one DLC item available and currently holds a Very Positive user review rating.
