Mr Magpie’s Harmless Card Game is a deckbuilder with a corporate horror theme. The player is trapped in the workplace of Mr Magpie, a puppet host who runs a performance management program, and the only available goal is to earn money and move up the company ranks. The game combines push-your-luck card flipping with logical deduction, and the developer compares its structure to a roguelike version of Minesweeper.

In each round, the player reveals cards from a board to earn money, gather clues and survive. The board and its hints inform when to stop and cash out. Revealing a JERRY card kills the player, and failing in this way results in permanent termination. Between rounds, money can be spent in Mr Magpie’s supply closet to add cards to the deck and to unlock global Perks, which affect a run as a whole. Combinations between cards and Perks form a central part of deck building.

The game includes multiple character classes that change how it plays. Each run offers new cards, Perks and risks. Between runs, players can explore the workplace and its stranger areas. The systems are described as cryptic but approachable, and the game is built around short runs made up of quick decisions.
