Roguecraft DX is a turn-based roguelike ported from the Commodore Amiga to PC, in which one of three heroes descends through a procedurally generated dungeon with permadeath.

Roguecraft DX is a roguelike originally written in Assembly for the Commodore Amiga and later ported to PC. Players select one of three heroes and descend through a dungeon one floor at a time. Each level is procedurally generated, so the layout, routes, secret rooms and item placement differ between runs. Death ends the run and the player begins again from the first floor. The developer describes the game as taking around five minutes to learn, with a deliberately compact ruleset that omits features such as item identification systems, hunger clocks and detailed inventory management. Most runs are stated to last between 30 and 40 minutes.

The three heroes each have a distinct play style and special abilities, and also function as difficulty settings. The Warrior deals heavy melee damage, the Rogue can blink behind enemies to perform backstabs, and the Wizard is fragile but casts magic missiles. During a descent the player can find a caged familiar, which is added to the inventory and can be summoned to fight alongside the hero and retrieve otherwise unreachable loot for a limited number of turns. One of the available familiars is a badger. Unlabelled potions and hidden rooms also feature in the dungeon.

The game includes three modes. Classic Mode is the original 15-level dungeon ending in a boss encounter. Endless Dungeon Mode increases in difficulty the further the player goes. Chicken Run Mode has the player controlling a chick as an alternative challenge. The visuals use hand-crafted isometric pixel art in keeping with the Amiga original. The framing story concerns a legendary dungeon called Mordecoom, said to hold a dark presence, a magic amulet and great riches, which the protagonist Zendar has tracked down after following a series of riddles across the world.
