Rollout Inline
Rollout Inline is a single-player game about the sport of aggressive inline skating, created by a solo developer. It is described by its creator as having a simcade feel, with movement driven by physics and momentum, and it includes ragdoll behaviour and optional balancing mechanics. The game is designed around controller input and was released into Early Access with three maps available at launch.
Core movement such as steering and spinning is handled on the left stick, with jumping on the right stick. Grinds and cess slides use both sticks at once, with each stick controlling one foot, which is intended to provide a wide range of grind variations. Alternative spin controls can be enabled in the settings. Other tricks include free spins and flips, air grabs, toe and heel rolls and handplants. A replay editor is included, along with original in-game music presented as a radio.
Each map contains a set of challenges. Completing a batch raises that map’s level, unlocks a new set of harder challenges and rewards clothing items for the skater. Earlier challenges remain replayable. Characters and skates can be customised from an in-game menu, with clothing tied to progression while skate customisation is available at any time without unlocks. Maps feature elements such as large gaps, long rails, vert ramps and pools.
