RPG System

RPG System is an indie virtual tabletop application designed for building and playing tabletop role-playing game adventures with other people. It is intended to serve both the Game Master and the players, giving each group a shared space in which to run a campaign. The game has moved from development to full release on Steam, where it currently has four user reviews.

The core of the software is its set of tools for preparing and running sessions. Game Masters can construct settings using detailed 3D environments as well as 2D maps, then guide players through those spaces during play. Characters and creatures can be managed within the system, and dice rolling is handled in the application so that resolution of actions happens on screen rather than at a physical table.

Play takes place online, with a group connecting to the same adventure so that everyone sees the same scene. The developer describes the aim as providing some of the tools needed to run a campaign of the user’s own design, covering scenarios such as exploring ruins, travelling through hostile territory or staging large battles.
