Ships At Sea

Ships At Sea is a maritime and ship simulator developed by Misc Games, set in a 46 km by 46 km open-world recreation of the Lofoten region of Norway. Players build a maritime career by starting with smaller boats and progressing through multiple vessel classes, taking on commercial fishing, cargo transport, service vessel work and other maritime activities. The game includes 13 playable boats and ships, including a Class 4 offshore wind farm support vessel, with further Class 4 and Class 5 vessels planned for future updates.

Core gameplay includes commercial fishing methods such as jigging, longline and net fishing, cargo transport, crane operation, support for fish farming, maintenance of lighthouses and maritime infrastructure, towing, firefighting response and assistance to distressed vessels. Players can walk freely around fully explorable vessels and operate functional wheelhouse instruments, including engine throttles, azimuth thrusters, sonar, radar and autopilot systems. Shipyards and dry docks allow vessels to be purchased, upgraded, repaired and maintained.

The game supports single-player, online co-op for up to 8 players via peer-to-peer, and dedicated servers for up to 16 players, alongside a company system for shared resource management and cooperative vessel operation. Built in Unreal Engine 5, it uses NVIDIA WaveWorks ocean simulation combined with a custom buoyancy system, dynamic weather with storms, fog and changing sea states, and licensed vessels, equipment and navigation systems from real-world maritime industry partners. It also supports NVIDIA DLSS Frame Generation, AMD FSR 3.1, AMD FSR 4 and Intel XeSS.
