Station Command
Station Command places the player in the role of the newly appointed Commander of Watchpoint Station, a remote outpost operated by Teleston Industries. The company has tasked the Commander with restoring order to the surrounding system. From the station, the player assembles a fleet from a range of ships and equipment, adjusting each vessel’s loadout based on the strengths and weaknesses of the opponents expected in a given mission. Rebuilding the station’s science and engineering teams allows the player to research and retrofit new ship variants and add abilities to existing equipment.
Combat is turn-based and directed from the station rather than from within individual ships. Vessels act on their own, while each turn gives the Commander the chance to use tactical powers that influence the course of the engagement. As the Commander and crew gain experience, these powers can be developed into more specialised versions suited to the player’s approach. Defeated ships and the equipment they carry can be salvaged and reused, and enemy technology can be reverse engineered to produce the player’s own versions.
The single player campaign branches according to the player’s choices. Decisions made during missions, responses to corporate emails, and one-to-one conversations with crew members all affect how the story develops and which challenges appear. The narrative involves secrets and treachery within the system, and the player can choose to build trust and alliances with the crew or rely on their authority as the company’s appointed representative.
