Subnautica 2

Subnautica 2 is an underwater survival adventure game developed by Unknown Worlds, set on a new alien planet and continuing the story of the Subnautica universe. Players take on the role of a Pioneer stranded after the colony ship CICADA encounters trouble en route to a new home, with the ship’s AI insisting the mission must continue. The game is designed primarily as a single-player experience but can be played in online co-operative multiplayer with up to three other players, with a choice of four pre-designed characters and further customisation options planned for Early Access.

Core gameplay involves exploring biomes, gathering resources, and crafting tools, equipment, and vehicles to survive. Players can traverse the ocean using a submersible called the Tadpole, design and customise their own bases, and scan and study marine life ranging from small creatures to large Leviathans. Progression through the game involves unlocking upgrades that allow access to greater depths and more dangerous areas, alongside uncovering the narrative behind the ship AI’s motives and the mysteries of the planet.

Subnautica 2 is currently in Early Access, with the developer stating that additional biomes, creatures, craftable items, and story content will be added over time based on player feedback. As an Early Access title, it may contain bugs, incomplete features, and performance issues.
