The Recipe for Life. A Journey Through Silent Apocalypses is a narrative-driven game in which the player takes on the role of a wanderer travelling across a world affected by a silent apocalypse. Journeys are undertaken in an RV, moving between locations to meet other survivors who, like the protagonist, carry psychological scars from what they have witnessed.

Core gameplay centres on branching dialogue systems, framed as psychological puzzles in which the outcome for each character depends on the player’s choices. Conversations explore themes of trauma, moral ambiguity, and taboo subjects, requiring the player to consider whether each person encountered deserves a second chance.

Alongside these dialogues, the player must manage the wanderer’s own wellbeing by cooking meals, earning a living, and monitoring stress levels to avoid breaking down under the emotional weight of others’ stories. As travel continues, the game world gradually shifts, becoming increasingly unsettling and surreal the further the player journeys.
