Warhammer 40,000: Dark Heresy

Warhammer 40,000: Dark Heresy is a role-playing game set in the Warhammer 40,000 universe. Players take on the role of an Inquisitor operating within the Calixis Sector, tasked with investigating heresy, uncovering conspiracies, and confronting threats such as xenos, heretics, and mutants. The narrative includes a decision-based structure in which player choices affect the story’s direction, alongside an investigative system for interrogating suspects and piecing together plots.

The game features a warband system, allowing players to recruit and manage a varied group of companions, including human Imperial subjects and xenos characters such as a Kroot mercenary. Each companion has fully voiced dialogue and offers a distinct perspective on the unfolding story.

Combat is turn-based and focuses on tactical planning, including targeting enemy weak points and managing party morale to influence combat effectiveness. The game also explores the internal workings of the Inquisition as an organisation, depicting its bureaucracy, influence, and internal conflicts, alongside a story involving the Tyrant Star and the Noctis Aeterna.
